On June 27, meetings were held with both the old and new board of directors . Most of the discussion pertained to routine business, however the membership should be aware of the following decisions:

Okusa-sensei will remain as Canada’s FIK director until the end of the upcoming WKC
– Okusa-sensei will resign at that time
– D’Orangeville-sensei will assume the directorship by default unless the BOD appoints a proxy (FIK rule)

A motion was passed making the past president advisor to the board for one term. The past president is invitedto all BOD meetings but is not entitled to vote. First such advisor will be Okusa-sensei.

Motions were passed establishing standing committees for iaido, jodo and history. The iaido and jodo committees will consist of at minimum one board member and the respective national chief examiner. The history committee will consist of at minimum one board member and the president.
– board member for iaido will be Patrick Suen
– board member for jodo will be Eric Tribe

Executive will be Christian D’Orangeville (president), Neil Gendzwill (VP West, secretary), Hyun-June Choi (VP East) and John Maisonneuve (Treasurer).

IT committee will be headed by Eric Tribe.
