The annual general meeting of the Canadian Kendo Federation was held in accordance with our By-Law at 6:30 PM on August 4, 2017, at the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa. 41 of 79 eligible member clubs were represented, 32 in person and 9 by proxy, thus meeting the required quorum of 1/3.

The president’s report was presented by D’Orangeville-sensei. The financial report was presented by John Maissoneuve. Hyun-June Choi, Patrick Suen and Greg Clarke respectively presented the kendo, iaido and jodo development fund reports. Murao-sensei presented the Team Canada report.

Kamata-sensei discussed CKF’s bid to host the World Kendo Championships in Toronto in 2021. CKF is in competition with France and Hungary to host the tournament. The winning bid will be announced at the 2018 WKC in Korea.

John Maissoneuve nominated the accounting firm of Stern Cohen to represent CKF over the next year. The nomination was unanimously approved.

An election was held to determine the board of directors. After the AGM concluded, the new BOD met and voted on the executive. Your new board of directors is:
