Submit your best pictures of Kendo, Iaido or Jodo!
We are launching a photo contest where anyone can share their images of people, places, things, events, and anything related to these three arts. From now until Dec 15, 2014, you can send us your images from across the world. The photos can be from any time, and not restricted to pictures taken during the contest period.
This is open to anyone worldwide!
The photos entered will be uploaded to a photo album under Canadian Kendo Federation’s Facebook Page, and everyone will be invited to vote by “like”.
We will select between 6 to 12 top pictures and create a 2015 calendar that will be available for sale, with the proceeds going to support Team Canada in the 16th World Kendo Championships.
The winners, whose pictures have been chosen for the calendar will receive a free copy of the calendar. The calendar will contain important kendo events around the world. If they are current Canadian Kendo Federation members, 2015 membership will be renewed.
The winner with the most votes – ‰ÛÏlikes‰Û – will receive one Level 1 ticket to Day 3 (May 31, 2015) of the 16th World Kendo Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
One randomly chosen entrant will also receive one Level 1 ticket to Day 3 (May 31, 2015) of the 16th World Kendo Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
Submission
Web Entry Version
All entries must be submitted electronically as .jpg files by e-mail to [email protected] . Digital files should be at least 1,000 pixels wide for a horizontal image or 1,000 pixels tall for a vertical image at 72 dpi.
Print Version
Entrants must be able to provide a high-resolution version of each photo that they submit (uncompressed TIFF or maximum quality JPEG, Grayscale or Colour (RGB), minimum 1600 pixels on the longest side). For photographs that are selected for print, the high-resolution version of the photograph will be required for printing.
Copyright Notice
With regard to any photograph submitted to this Contest, the owner of the photo’s copyright retains all copyright.
By submitting any photograph to the Contest, you grant (or warrant that the owner of such materials expressly grants) CKF a world-wide, royalty-free, irrevocable and non-exclusive right and license to use, copy, transmit, communicate, publicly display and perform, distribute and create compilations and derivative works or merchandise from any such submitted photograph to promote the Contest. You represent and warrant that you have the right to grant the license set out above.
By submitting a photo to the contest, the entrant hereby grants the Canadian Kendo Federation (CKF) the right to use photos submitted to the contest (a) on the CKF website, print media, to promote CKF via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media outlets; and and future CKF materials.
By submitting a photo to the contest, the entrant also hereby grants to CKF non-exclusive, perpetual right and licence to reproduce, publish and distribute, and to authorize the reproduction, publication and distribution of the photos, in print, and in all electronic forms and media. CKF reserves the non-exclusive right to publish any entry and/or use any entry in its material during or after the Contest without further compensation to the entrants.
Deadline
Contest closes on December 15, 2014. All photographic entries must be sent by December 15, 2014 local time.
Prizes
Winners whose pictures have been chosen for print will receive a copy of the calendar.
The winner with the most votes – “likes” – will receive one Level 1 ticket to Day 3 (May 31, 2015) of the 16th World Kendo Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
One randomly chosen entrant will also receive one Level 1 ticket to Day 3 (May 31, 2015) of the 16th World Kendo Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
If the winners whose pictures have been chosen for print is a current Canadian Kendo Federation member, 2015 membership will be renewed at no cost.
Prizes are not transferable; no prize substitutions or equivalents are permitted, except by the CKF at its sole discretion. In all cases, CKF reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any of the Contest Prizes.

Les images soumises seront tÌ©lÌ©versÌ©es dans un album photo sur la page Facebook de la FÌ©dÌ©ration, puis tous seront invitÌ©s ÌÊ voter pour leur image favorite en utilisant la fonction ‰ÛÏJ’aime‰Û.
